NOTABLE TRAFFIC
DAL1561 [ACB82C] was the closest overhead contact of the day, passing nearly directly above Chagrin Falls at 27,550 ft, southbound at 510 kts. Hard to miss — if you were looking up.
N888NA [AC3CBA] cruised through at 45,000 ft heading northeast at 487 kts. Sitting right at the top of standard commercial airspace. No drama, but worth noting.
EIN9LT [4CAE32] — an Aer Lingus callsign format — appeared at 14,275 ft climbing northeast. Its ICAO hex falls outside any recognized national allocation block. Ireland says they didn't do it.
N971CC [AD8791] was down in the weeds at 1,575 ft, puttering southbound at 88 kts. General aviation doing general aviation things.
JBU541 / JIA5132 / FFT1492 were all operating below 4,000 ft in the Cleveland approach corridor — routine terminal traffic, nothing suspicious, just busy low-altitude real estate.
ANOMALIES
Twenty-three contacts transmitted Mode S with no callsign broadcast. Several — A1FD04, AC0CF8, ABDB88, A240DC, A33B1E among them — were cruising at cruise altitudes (25,000–40,000 ft) in complete radio silence, identity-wise. Legal? Possibly. Comfortable? Less so.
ICAO 4007FB is registered to the United Kingdom and was transiting at 35,000 ft with no callsign. Our British friends, operating quietly as ever.
CMP470 [0C21A3] and VTM941 [0D0D52] both carry ICAO hex codes that fall outside any known national allocation range. Unknown origin. Unknown operator. Noted.
ASA406 [A9A397] flagged at 51,700 ft — well above the standard commercial ceiling of 45,000 ft. Business jet or something that prefers not to discuss it.
PATTERN NOTES
Today's 251 contacts represent a 53% reduction from the 7-day average of 535. The shortfall is consistent across all hours — this is not a gap, it is the whole day. Numerous regulars were absent: DAL703, UAL545, DAL1558, multiple JIA51xx and RPA series flights that reliably appear in this airspace. No obvious explanation in the data.
Canadian registrations (Air Canada, WestJet, Cargojet) and one German-registered contact (BCS311) transited the extended picture area — routine international overflight traffic.
